Dr. Kuddithamby Gunaalan

I am a marine environmental researcher working at the interface of plankton ecology, ecotoxicology and marine pollution. My research examines how multiple stressors affect plankton communities and the early life stages of marine organisms. I combine field oceanography, laboratory experiments, analytical techniques and mesocosm studies to understand contaminant exposure and ecological effects across biological scales. My current research also explores the environmental implications of alternative marine fuels and multiple-stressor interactions under changing ocean conditions. I am particularly interested in linking mechanistic research with ecosystem-level understanding and environmentally relevant risk assessment.
